4-Day Luxury Uganda Gorilla Trekking (Fly-In)

Two full days. The overland route from Entebbe is eight to nine hours in each direction; the flight is an hour and fifteen. On a four-day trip that is the difference between one afternoon at the lodge and none at all.

It depends on your lodge, and we assign the two together. Kihihi serves the Buhoma sector Gorilla Forest Camp, Bwindi Lodge. Kisoro serves Rushaga and Nkuringo, including Ichumbi and Rushaga Gorilla Lodge. We confirm the pairing at booking so you never land on the wrong side of the forest.

No. Scheduled flights run on fixed morning and early-afternoon departures, and the gorilla trek occupies a full morning you cannot trek and fly out the same day. Four days is the shortest workable fly-in itinerary.

We use established scheduled operators with well-maintained aircraft and experienced pilots. Weather delays are occasionally possible in the wet season; we build the schedule so that a delay never threatens your permit day.

Treks cross steep, uneven forest terrain and run from thirty minutes to six hours depending on where the family has moved overnight. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended. Porters are available at the trailhead for a small fee and are strongly worth taking.

Most nationalities require a Uganda tourist visa, obtained in advance through the Uganda e-Visa portal. A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry.
