KENYA · TANZANIA
The Masai Mara and the Serengeti are the same ecosystem. The border between them is a line on a map that the wildebeest have never respected, and seeing only one half of it has always been a compromise. This journey takes both. It opens in Kenya: two nights in the Mara for the highest density of big cats on the continent, a gentler day on Lake Naivasha, and elephants beneath Kilimanjaro at Amboseli. Then the crossing at Namanga into Tanzania handled end to end by our teams on both sides and the northern circuit: baobabs and elephant at Tarangire, two nights on the Serengeti plains, and a descent onto the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater. Eleven nights, seven locations, two countries, and every park, reserve, conservancy and crater fee included. It is the most complete East African safari we run.

Before You Go
Everything you need to know before your safari begins answered by our team of specialists.
Because the Mara and the Serengeti are one ecosystem divided by a colonial boundary, and each shows you a different face of it. The Mara is compact and cat-dense; the Serengeti is vast and gives you scale. Seeing only one has always been the compromise.
Very little on your part. At Namanga your Kenyan driver-guide hands you to our Tanzanian team, and both handle the formalities, vehicle documentation and processing fees all included. You carry your passport and your luggage. Allow an hour to ninety minutes.
Yes a Kenya eTA and a Tanzania visa. The East Africa Tourist Visa does not cover Tanzania, only Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. Both are straightforward to obtain online in advance and we will send instructions at booking.
Because you are paying two governments. Masai Mara is USD 200 per person per day, Amboseli USD 100, Serengeti USD 82.60 and Ngorongoro USD 70.80, plus a crater descent fee. Across twelve days that exceeds USD 1,000 per person before a single bed. Every operator pays the same, and it is included in your rate.
It is in the ecosystem year-round; only the location changes. December to March the herds are on the southern Serengeti plains for calving; July to October they are in the Mara and the northern Serengeti, with the river crossings. This itinerary covers both halves, which is its whole point.
There are two substantial transfers Day 5 from Naivasha to Amboseli, and Day 8 from Tarangire to the Serengeti. Both are broken properly. Everything else is under five hours, and Days 4 and 9 are deliberately gentle.
Yes. Scheduled flights can replace the Nairobi–Mara leg and the Arusha–Serengeti leg, saving the better part of two days. It costs more and you lose the escarpment and the crater viewpoint. We quote it on request.
