Before You Go
Everything you need to know before your safari begins — answered by our team of specialists.
Uganda and Rwanda offer wildlife experiences year-round. The driest months — June to September and December to February — bring easier trekking conditions and clearer skies. The green season (March to May, October to November) offers lush landscapes, fewer crowds, and occasional reduced permit rates.
Most nationalities require a tourist visa for Uganda and/or Rwanda. Uganda visas are available online through the Uganda e-Visa portal before departure. Rwanda operates an EAC Tourist Visa. We advise on the exact requirements for your nationality at the time of booking.
Most activities on this safari are suitable for a general level of fitness. Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking involves walking on uneven forest terrain for 1–6 hours depending on where the animals are — a reasonable level of physical fitness is recommended. We provide full guidance on preparation before your trip.
We provide a detailed packing list on booking. For forest treks: long-sleeved shirt, long trousers, waterproof hiking boots, rain jacket, and gardening gloves. For general safari: neutral-coloured clothing, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a good camera. We'll send you everything you need to know.
Absolutely. Every safari we run can be tailored to your group size, pace, accommodation preferences, and special interests — whether that's adding extra trekking days, upgrading lodges, or combining with another region. Contact us and we'll build your perfect itinerary.
